Director of Enrollment Management – 12 month, Full-time
 
Summary and Scope of Role
 
The Director of Enrollment is responsible for leading and managing the acquisition, enrollment, and retention of students for Marburn’s day program and summer school. They are responsible for achieving goals through an understanding of enrollment best practices, development of innovative programs, utilization and application of analytics and in developing strong and trusted relationships.  This role may manage additional enrollment staff as needed, and directs the admission meeting.  This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and is part of the Institutional Advancement Team (IAT).
 
Responsibilities:
 
School Culture and School Operations
 
?      Understanding of and a commitment to Marburn Academy’s Vision and Mission
?      Conduct self in presence of students, parents, and visitors in manner which models the Core Values          and behaviors Marburn seeks to teach
?      Consistently and effectively use the conflict resolution
?      Develop and sustain relationships with colleagues, parents, and members of the   
         Marburn Academy community that are professional, collegial, and collaborative
?      Manage confidentiality aspect of student, parent, and colleague relationships,
        and of internal Marburn affairs according to established school guidelines
?      Establish and maintain appropriate personal “boundaries” in relationships with 
        students, parents, and colleagues
?      Attend and participate in professional development opportunities
?      Abide by all policies articulated in the Student and Employee Handbook and other
       school and board policies
?      Represent and support the school at various functions both internally and externally 
       relative to the role of staff member.
?      Effectively perform other duties assigned by the Head of School, Associate Head of
       School, and/or Leadership team member.
?      Support the school and its leadership
?      Serve on school-wide and standing committees as needed
 
New Enrollment
 
?      Principal contact for all prospective families going through the admission process at Marburn                     Academy, guiding families from first inquiry to acceptance and contract signing.
?      Direct systematic, timely and efficient handling of inquiries, phone screeners, applications,                        assessments, testing, interviews, visits, and shadow days.
?      Cull and analyze all admission materials from schools, parents and caregivers.
?      Develop process for pre-vetting students for “good fit” in keeping with allocated resources.
?      Liaise with the CFO on financial aid awards determined by the Financial Aid Committee.
?      With input from appropriate parties, make final acceptance decisions, manage wait pools and                    conduct all communication with parents and guardians.
?      Coordinate strategic and seamless transition of new families during final interviews and shadow                days.
?      Ensure fidelity of the admission process; consult with others routinely to ensure student acceptance          practice is in keeping with the ideal student profile as determined by academic leadership.
?      Oversee admission database, create reports and dashboards to inform strategy and sustainable              growth.
 
Re-enrollment
 
?      Manage the re-enrollment process for current students and families.
?      Support the school and families in retention of students through enhanced communication (touch              points, focus groups, and interviews).
?      Plan, attend and support new family programming.
 
Recruitment/Marketing/Positioning
 
?      Utilize technology to the fullest to help pre-qualify family inquiries.
?      Direct, plan and execute the Admission Information Sessions and other recruitment events.
?      Act as admission ambassador and spokesperson in the broader community.
?      Work with Marketing and Communications to ensure Marburn is positioned to attract and retain the          best students for the program through advertising, social media and print materials.
 
Team
 
?      Oversee the work of the enrollment management staff to support workflow
?      Direct the bi-weekly admission meeting, keep participants proactively informed of all issues                      impacting enrollment.
?      Responsible for keeping relevant metrics on admissions, preparing  reports and presentations as              needed for the Board meetings and board committee meetings.
?      Attend the OST, Admission and IAT meetings and fully participate in team agendas and discussions.
?      Serve as a standing member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging committee
 
Qualifications/Skills
 
?      5+ years of proven experience in admission or related field. Experience with an educational                      institution (K-12, higher ed) is a plus.
?      Bachelor’s degree is required, an advanced degree is preferred.
?      An understanding of and commitment to Marburn’s mission and core values.
?      Keen customer service skills, friendly, assertive with a kind and positive attitude.
?      Demonstrated leadership skills.
?      Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
?      Must be detail-and metrics oriented and disciplined in tracking and processing information.
 
Physical Requirements
?      Ability to stand, traverse for extended periods of time two plus hours or more 
?      Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time of two plus hours
?      Ability to visually detect, observe and recognize
?      Verbally and audibly communicate and exchange information with ability to position oneself to do so
?      Ability to lift:
?          Regularly up to 10lbs
?          Frequently up to 11lbs–30lbs
?          Occasionally over 30lbs
?          Rarely up to 50lbs with assistance as required
 
Hours
?      Core business hours are between 7:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday.  Specific hours will be                          determined with the supervisor.
?      Occasionally, the staff member will be required to participate in certain activities such as field trips, afternoon or            evening events, and overnight or weekend programs that will occur outside of the regular daily hours mentioned          above (e.g. Graduation, College Fair, Open House, Evening Seminars, Curriculum Night, Dances, etc.).
